EngageDC: A Platform for Civic Participation

EngageDC serves as the city’s official hub for outreach and listening efforts. DC 2050 Community Organizations

As part of the DC 2050 engagement process, the DC Office of Planning has partnered with community-based organizations to lead targeted engagement efforts. These organizations focus on connecting with underrepresented residents, including lower-income Black communities and those with limited English proficiency. Their goal is to ensure diverse voices are included in planning the city’s future.

Metropolitan Police Department’s Community Engagement Academy

Launched in 2015, the Community Engagement Academy offers residents an inside look at police operations. This eight-week program includes training, tours, and discussions on various policing topics, aiming to build trust and understanding between the police force and the community. Participants must undergo a basic background check prior to participation.

The Phillips Collection’s Community Initiatives

The Phillips Collection collaborates with the community through various programs, including art workshops, educational experiences, and wellness initiatives. These efforts aim to create inclusive spaces where individuals of all ages can experience the transformative power of art.
